Patrick Harris

jacksonville Florida

I studied sculpture at the College of Dupage Illinois. Recieved a BA from Illinois State University.

Teaching experiences included gifted and adult education in Connecticut. I learned stone carving in Tuscany Italy. I worked at the quarries with Carrara marble in Carrara Italy. In 1986 I changed from direct carving to constructivism. My work has been consistent since 1990 developing human biomorphic surreal images in fiberglas using boat building techniques. Objects are finished in fiber cement applied directly over armatures. The product has evolved into a weather stable enviromentally inert object with a finish capable of a 100 year life in Florida climate.
